It did not take much for me to fall not only in love with this book but its characters. Mrs. Fyffe knows how to create a story that captivates you not only by the plot but it’s wonderful scenes and heroic characters. I was sucked in from the start with a plot you think you have it all worked out until this author throws a few major twists in your way giving romance a whole new meaning. You will be cheering Tabitha and Hunter on as they butt heads over and over again as they worm their way deep into your heart. What you will find in this delightful story are bad guys, good guys, saloon, cowboys, saloon girls, friends, family some nice and some not so nice, lies, secrets, hard times, good times, a kidnapping, fights, gun fights, lovely name calling that will make you laugh and so much more as this author entertains you with her very talented writing.I have read and listen to both the book and the audio I can’t make up my mind which is best. The book you get your own feeling of it but the audio really comes alive. I totally enjoyed both but I will let you decide.I loved John Glouchevitch as the narrator he has a strong male voice and brings many wonderful different voices. He has the right pitch for time in history to make you believe he really is each character. I did not hear any background noises just a very rich audio that pulled me in. There are not any places where the audio what louder or lower at the beginning of chapters which usually means a break was taken. If any breaks were taken you could not tell. It was easy to hear each emotion that each character was feeling through his tones. You had to trouble knowing what each felt whether they were happy, sad or anger. His male voices were as nice as his female ones each given the right pitch as he takes you through each down fall or happy times. This is the first I have listened to this narrator, I am very much looking forward to letting me take me away to another place and time in the near future.Tabitha is a woman after my own heart as she takes the bull by the horn going west to live her own life away from her controlling mother who has handpicked a man for her to marry. She isn’t happy with her pick and just wants to live her life reading and selling books. She finds what she is looking for in the wonderfully sweet town of Logan Meadows where her aunt and uncle live. She is happy that is as happy as a woman can be with no one to hold and love. She lives her life haves her business, family and wonderful friends around her. She is happy that is until one handsome stranger comes in town turning her world upside down making her mind of a husband and family.Hunter does a job for a man who cannot pay him, in return the man gives him half of a saloon the kicker is his new partner doesn’t know about this and isn’t too happy when he finds out. Hunter is tired of moving around and wants to settle put some roots down the saloon is just what he needs. He takes one look at the beautiful Tabitha and wishes he could make her his own. Knowing this isn’t going to happen she is way above him he gets to know the town and the people, than he breaks the news to his new partner. Tempters rise and things get a little out of hand leaving Hunter with trying to make the best of it and dreaming about Tabitha. One thing leads to another and before you know the author throws some twist on you that will leave you smiling and a few with your mouth hung open. I loved the humor along with the true meaning of friendship, family and love the author brings to this story. I really enjoyed the baiting back and forward between Tabitha and Hunter along with some other members of the town. It was a pleasure to get to see some of my old favorite characters and where they are in their life and what is new with them. There are some characters I came to like and then not like so much. Tabitha’s mother is something else but she will grow on you. I did have a few good laughs at her expense lol. I dearly loved Violet I would have loved to have been part of her family, she is a witty old women whose heart is as big at the moon. She gives so much but she doesn’t take much crap. You want to stay on this woman good side for sure. The way Tabitha and Hunters romance plays out is so delightful and refreshing. You are in for such a treat watching these two fight their attraction as they get into disagreements, and the mess they make they are having a hard time keeping their hands off each other. Jealousy can be a bad thing and I truly think Tabitha’s aunt really loves her but is jealous of her. There is nothing worse than family sticking their nose in your life telling you what to do when you are 29 and fully able to run your own life. I love small towns where everyone knows everyone, they help each other giving so much back to the town and its people. The romance build up is slow and steady with a few twists. This is a story you will forget you are reading as it takes over your mind pulling you in taking you away giving you smiles after smiles along with a few heart breaks. It was a book I could not put down I had to know how each twist would play out. Things are still up in the air with Jake, Daisy and his mother but that is another story I can’t wait to read. This is Mrs. Fyffe at her finest giving you a highly exciting entertaining read. If you haven’t read any of her books you should give this one a try. I highly recommend any of her books or audios they are truly wonderful, humorous, exciting, thrilling, with a little danger and along with a lot of love she gives each one.

Once again Caroline Fyffe has created a story that was just captivating. A hero that I absolutely fell in love with, and a heroine that I was completely rooting for from the first pages.Tabitha is her own woman. Leaving all she ever knew, she headed west with nothing but her dreams of owning her own bookstore. And she founds those dreams in Logan Meadows. Known as the town spinster at the age of almost 29, she has her home and her business, not to mention countless friends to make her happy. Life is good. And then Hunter rode into town.Hunter has always been a sort of drifter. Being a wagon master has given him opportunities to see the country. But never set down roots. And with his half ownership into the Bright Nugget saloon that is exactly what he will have. Can be adapt to having a place to call home? When he meets Tabitha he is instantly drawn to her. Her confidence and beauty alone are more that enough, but he senses in her more. A strength even she must not realize. And therein lies the danger to his heart. She is well above him and he knows it. There's nothing he could ever offer her to make her see him as anything else as the saloon owner and a thorn in her side.Through many disagreements about the saloon they are drawn together and the attraction between them grows. And when a speedy wedding and a murderous threat come to town, maybe they will see their own hearts. Will misunderstanding and thoughtless words keep them apart or will they realize they are perfect for one another?Another perfect and mesmerizing story and I can't wait for more!!

I received an advanced copy of this book for an honest review. No whispers here! I'm shouting about how much I loved it! There are so many terrific characters in Logan Meadows. It was fun to catch up on some of the previous ones. I love the way this author weaves a story. I felt like I was in Logan Meadows enjoying every moment. I believe this is her best book yet, which is saying a lot because all of her books are fantastic! I can't wait for the next book. If you haven't read this series, WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR????

This story kept me reading into the. Night. Hunter is a wagon master who wins a part ownership in a saloon. Tabitha owns the book store across the street. They have very different pasts and beliefs, but that spark of love is there. So many issues of the late 1800's are discussed. Like women's rights and the plight of the soil doves at the saloon. Also the deportation of some Chinese people. Our town's characters all show up, so we see how everyone is progressing with life. This is a town where I would want to live if I had lived in that era. So many exciting events, tender moments, and funny children's antics, you won't want to put this book down. I cannot wait to read the next book about Jake finding his father. I was a little disappointed that I have to wait. I may reread this book to be ready for the continuing chapter.

The year is 1883, Tabitha Canterbury has settled in town resigned to live her life as a spinster, spending her days in her beloved book store. That is, until a handsome stranger rides into town and sparks begin to fly. Not just the romantic kind, two people could not be much different than Tabitha and Hunter. Hunter Wade is the new half owner of the Bright Nugget Saloon, he has been living on his own for much of his life. After riding into Logan Meadows, maybe, he thinks it would be a nice place to settle down. Caroline has written yet another heart-warming and beautiful story of friendship and love of family and neighbors but all is not rosy, there is a sad time for one of the families involving racism and another resident has his world rocked when a person from his past arrives in town. All the people we know from Logan Meadows return in our latest visit to their small, lovely town. From the wonderful and beloved Mrs. Hollyhock to the busy body Beth Fairington. I loved my visit to Logan Meadows and looking forward to Caroline's next book. I received a copy of Whispers on the Wind in return for my unbiased review.
