I just got back from CDMX and this Moon guide is now well-dog-eared. It helped me find some great little shops I would have missed otherwise (like 180 and Goodbye Folk), plus all the essential must-sees. Mexico City is a big city and the fact that the author really knows her stuff and knows how to break it all down into easy neighborhoods was a huge help.
Nothing much new or in depth. It's been a few years since we've visited, but we got better information from relatives and friends than this book. Try others.

A great + practical guide, just what we needed for our first trip to Mexico City. Until we got there, we really had no idea what a universe Mexico City was, and this book kept us going for a week, and wanting more, but never left us feeling overwhelmed. Full of good details on food, history, and so forth. Also, just, physically? I was able to cut up a mango on the cover of this book, but I was also able to fit it into a narrow pants pocket.
Moon makes fantastic guide books. They give great descriptions of the place and offer a lot of history and information. I like them more than other guide books, which usually have too many hotel and restaurant listings. I used this guide book non stop on my recent trip to CDMX
This was such an excellent guide for our recent trip to Mexico City. The author clearly knows the city well, and gives great advice on what to explore, eat, drink, and just soak in. Highly recommend!
